Food Vendors

Want to sell food at the Black and Brown Nerds Expo on Saturday, November 5th from 11AM to 6PM? You're in the right place!

How Do I sell food at this event?

If you'd like to sell food at this event, you must have a food truck or cart.

Please send the following documents or information to jbanks@miracosta.edu:

  1. Need your contact number and email address.
  2. Form W-9 (if you only have an Employer Identification Number (EIN) or ITIN, that's acceptable)
  3. Public Health Permit/License - see more info here
  4. Business License
  5. Certificate of Insurance as the certificate holder with the following information:

  • MiraCosta Community College District, its officers, officials, agents, employees, and volunteers as additional insureds. 
  • Attn: Justin Crast, Risk Manager
  • 1 Barnard Drive
  • Oceanside, CA 92056

If you don't have insurance, consider on these from the list.

Once the above documents are received, you will receive a MiraCosta College Basic Services Agreement. Please review, complete, and send to jbanks@miracosta.edu.

WHat if I would like to cater at this event?

MiraCosta College requires the similar documents:

Frequently asked questions

Can I just show up and sell food?

No.

How much is it to get a vendor spot?

All vendor or exhibitor spots are free.

If I'm using a grill, does that count as a food cart?

No. 

Why do I have to send you so many documents just to sell or cater there?

In short, it's to protect everyone involved at the event. 

What are some benefits of catering or selling food there?

Once we receive your documents and information, many folks involved in planning events can order food from your business throughout the year. 

Do you pay for food through credit card or pay ahead of time?

Usually no. MiraCosta College operates on a net-30 policy, meaning that payments are  usually made 30 days from the invoice date. However, each expense may operate differently from other ones.
