1:15-2PM: Sharmane Fury, Shawnbay Jones, and Aaron Nabus - Podcasting is for the Blerds

Podcasting is one of the most accessible forms of media and a good way to find representation for all marginalized groups. Historically, there hasn’t always been space available to Black nerds aka Blerds to share their geeky sides but in recent years the Blerd Community has grown, especially through podcasting. Join the hosts of BLERDcoMIXed and #HallH Show podcasts as we discuss the importance of creating inclusive spaces for marginalized geeks and nerds how podcasting has helped create community over fandoms, cosplay, and geek culture while Black and Brown.

2:15-3PM: Lleymi Martinez - Speculative Fiction: Another World is Possible

This workshop will include zine-making activities and a short presentation on how to find our story-telling abilities and resilience.

3:15-4PM: Quantal Langford - Experimentation is the ingredient for your Creative Career

How I've used the concept of experimentation to pivot and evolve my creative career. From developing my podcast to creating coffee cups that's lead to client work. I'm always thinking like a scientist seeing what works and getting the feedback to constantly adapt and evolve in an ever-changing landscape.
